Turkeys are here and other fun additions!

So after several attempts we finally got 5 Bronze turkeys!  I was starting to think we weren't going to get any this year.  First there was an issue with the birds being flown in, then when that was resolved, the shipments had high mortality so there were only 25 available and all spoken for.  Then yesterday I went and was told to come back an hour later, they have to be there 24 hours before they can be sold.  So an hour later there were 28 available and I was first in line to get my 5!  They are on newspaper right now because they were trying to eat the litter and not their food. Not the smartest birds ever...

The eggs are still in the incubator, but I expect that tomorrow we will have some new chicks.  I saw some eggs moving occasionally today.  I'll be sure to post some pics of the hatching.

This is Bailey, she's the newest addition to our family. She moves too fast to get good pictures of.  She's an 8 week old yellow lab, and we are having great fun with her.
We took here for her first walk tonight.  It was a lovely evening along the river and enjoyable to see open water and the geese and ducks taking off and landing.  She didn't think too much of the leash, but followed along pretty well with Sage our older Springer Spaniel.  We were too busy trying to keep them moving and untangled to get a picture.

Then we stopped by Creamer's Field to do some more geese watching.  It my favorite sign of spring, the return of the geese heading north.

Happy Easter!
